Come see some weird birds.

Join me for a workshop at the State Museum!
In this 8 week workshop, Participants ages 55+ will have the opportunity to use their imagination to play explorer and archaeologist around the museum, uncovering the ways that civilization, arts, culture, habitat, and animals have all co-existed together. Using observational drawing techniques, participants will create a bound field guide based on things that fascinate and captivate them from around the museum. They will learn a Japanese stitch bookbinding technique to hold sketches, ideas, and concepts together into a neatly bound book, ready to be consulted, observed, and leafed through. Building on the idea of observation, participants will focus on one particular subject of interest, and use this item as inspiration to create a small relief sculpture, learning the process of mold making.
